Scientific Calculatorby Robert Barnesfrom Poolesville High School |
High School Students do not have a quick, easy, and efficient way to solve the many science equations that they encounter daily. The purpose of this project is to design a Scientific Equation Calculator that suits the needs of High School Students. The calculator program is written in Microsoft's Visual Basic programming language. This allows students to use the program with any computer that uses Windows 95/98/NT for its operating system.
The Scientific Equation Calculator solves numerous equations. It is able to convert Fahrenheit to Celsius and Celsius to Fahrenheit. It is able to calculate Acceleration, Momentum, Velocity, Wave Speed, Force, Density, Work, Imagined Mechanical Advantage and Actual Mechanical Advantage. All the equations are easily assessable from the clean no nonsense interface. Also, equations can be solved simultaneously. This allows the student to continue solving his or her problems that require multiple steps of calculating.
This project contributes to the success of the student. Students, who utilize this Scientific Equation Calculator, will end up with extra time to go over work, study the next topic that will be discussed in their science class, or to make up work and/or experiments.
